The purpose of the project was to prepare amoxicillin orodispersible tablets specially for enhanced pediatrics compliance. The amoxicillin drug belongs to BCS class II with poor solubility and high permeability property. It has a very good bioavailability over 90%, which is available in tablet and parenteral formulation.
The orodispersible tablets of amoxicillin prepared with sodium starch glycollate as superdisintegrant in varying amount by wet granulation technique. The prepared tablets were tested for preformulation compatibility studies by FTIR for the drug and excipient and post compression studies of the tablet formulation and all the parameters were found in acceptable limits. The invitro dissolution studies of five formulations were done and the optimized formulation was found to be F5 with 97%.
