This research investigates the therapeutic potential and cosmetic applications of four prominent medicinal plants: turmeric (Curcuma longa L.), ginger (Zingiber officinale), lavender (Lavandula angustifolia), and aloe vera (Aloe barbadensis Miller). Each of these plants is celebrated for its unique bioactive constituents and longstanding traditional use in various medical systems, particularly within the Indian subcontinent. Turmeric, rich in curcuminoids, is renowned for its potent anti-inflammatory activity and skin-brightening effects. Ginger contains gingerols and shogaols, which are credited for its anti-inflammatory and digestive health benefits. Lavender, with its essential oils abundant in monoterpenes, is valued for both its soothing aroma and its anti-inflammatory properties. Aloe vera, distinguished by its polysaccharide-rich gel, is widely recognized for its hydrating, soothing, and wound-healing effects in skincare. This study explores the chemical profiles, ethnopharmacological significance, and contemporary applications of these botanicals in herbal cosmetics, emphasizing their contributions to skin health and overall well-being.
