Hemoglobin is an essential component of blood, responsible for oxygen transport and overall vitality. A hemoglobin deficiency, often due to iron deficiency anemia, remains a widespread health issue, particularly in low-resource settings. Conventional treatments, while effective, are often accompanied by side effects and limited long-term adherence. This review explores natural, plant-based "botanical boosters" strategies for increasing hemoglobin levels. Drawing from ethnobotanical knowledge and contemporary scientific research, the article highlights key medicinal plants known for their hematinic properties. These plants not only provide bioavailable iron but also contain supportive phytochemicals such as vitamin C, flavonoids, and antioxidants that enhance iron absorption and promote erythropoiesis. The review also discusses the mechanisms of action, dosage forms, and clinical findings related to these botanicals. Ultimately, the integration of medicinal plants into dietary and therapeutic regimens offers a promising, natural approach to combat hemoglobin deficiency and improve blood health.
