Abstract:

Background: Hypertension is a chronic disorder characterized by persistently elevated arterial blood pressure, including increased diastolic pressure. Telmisartan and cilnidipine are commonly prescribed antihypertensive drugs used in its management. This is a comparative review of antihypertensive drugs telmisartan and cilnidipine. It also includes a comparison of the reported analytical methods of telmisartan and cilnidipine. The review is to provide a detailed comparison of these drugs in terms of their pharmacological properties and therapeutic effects. Additionally, the review emphasizes the comparison of various pharmaceutical analytical methods reported for these drugs, highlighting their principles, techniques, advantages, disadvantages, and limitations to guide future research and quality control Significance: Comparative evaluation of these drugs may assist clinicians in optimal drug selection and support pharmaceutical analysts in improving quality control methods. Hypertension remains a major global health concern, and accurate pharmaceutical analysis of antihypertensive drugs is essential to validate their efficacy, safety, and quality.
